Apple has launched the HomeView smart display, a new device designed to integrate seamlessly with its Home ecosystem. The device features a 7-inch touchscreen and incorporates Apple Intelligence, enhancing user interaction through AI-driven capabilities. Priced at $299, the HomeView is available for pre-order in six countries, with shipments expected to begin shortly.
The HomeView serves as a central hub for Apple's Home Collection, which includes security cameras, smart locks, and thermostats developed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The device supports Face ID-style personalization, allowing users to recognize individuals and adjust settings accordingly. It also integrates with Siri, offering voice-activated control over smart home devices.
This launch follows Apple's "Welcome Home" event, where the company unveiled a range of new smart home products. The HomeView is part of a broader strategy to expand Apple's presence in the smart home market. The Home Collection devices are designed to work without requiring separate apps or accounts, streamlining user experience. Apple has also announced additional hubs, including the HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K, which can function as central control points for the Home ecosystem.
Apple's partnership with LG and Schneider Electric marks a significant step in its efforts to create a unified smart home experience. The HomeView and accompanying devices aim to simplify home automation, offering intelligent features that adapt to user behavior. This expansion reflects Apple's growing focus on integrating AI into its ecosystem, enhancing both functionality and user convenience.
